AERONAUTICAL SOCIETY
OF INDIA AWARDS FOR THE YEAR 2012
NOMINATIONS FOR ANNUAL AWARDS-2012
The Aeronautical Society of India has been conferring annually
national awards in recognition and appreciation of outstanding
contributions and achievements made in the field of aeronautics
and aerospace sciences. The Awards conferred are: -
a) National Aeronautical Prize
b) Dr. Biren Roy Space Science and /or Design Award
c) Dr. Biren Roy Trust Award
d) Dr. V.M. Ghatage Award
e) Excellence in Aerospace Education Award
f) Production Technology Award
g) Indigenisation of Aeronautical Equipment Award
h) Swarna Jayanti Award
i) Bharat Ratna JRD Tata Award
Brief description and eligibility criteria for each of these
awards are summarized at the Appendix-A. The winners of these awards during last six
years are placed at Appendix
-B.
In keeping with the good traditions, the Society now invites
nominations for these awards for the year 2012. The nomination
procedure is as follows: -
a) The nomination may be forwarded as per the format placed
at Appendix-C
duly sponsored by the Head of the Institution/Organization.
b) Each nomination shall be submitted in ten copies.
c) A brief citation, limited to 25 words, of contributions and
achievements by the nominee(s) be enclosed. If selected, the
citation would be read during award presentation ceremony.
d) Nomination for each award be submitted separately.
e) One Passport Size photograph of the nominee(s) be also enclosed.
It may please be noted that nominations shall be valid for a
period of three years. Fresh nominations are therefore not necessary
in respect of nominees proposed earlier for the years 2010 and
year 2011. However the bio-data of the nominee duly updated
as necessary may be submitted. The list of such nominees for
the last two years is placed at Appendix
-D for information.
Last date for receipt of nominations is 30 October 2012. The
award winners shall be invited to participate in the next (64th)
annual General Meeting of the Society and receive the award
during its inaugural session from Chief Guest. The names of
the award winners will be announced a fortnight before the annual
general Meeting.
The decision of the Society in adjudging the nomination shall
be final.
